
Online Debate: Migration & EU
The Hub held its first event on 10 November 2021, 20.00- 22.00, which was an online debate entitled “Migration & European Union” in the context of the Conference on the Future of Europe (https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Migration/f/35/meetings/81610). The event was conducted by Members of the Hub and the attendace of the event was open and free to the public. Two rounds of discussions were held, during which the possible contribution of the New Pact on Migration and Asylum to the current situation as it arises from the current Dublin system, as well as the future of the EU-Turkey Joint Declaration, while exploring Turkey’s role in the migration issue were examined. The members were divided into groups of speech and response. The debate started and ended with attendants’ participation in a vote on whether their opinion shifted following the speakers’ statements. The event was moderated by members of the Hub. Further information can also be found on the event’s Facebook page.
