EU Youth Hub

Who we are

The EU Youth Hub is an autonomous voluntary group of young Europeans that operates as a regular deliberation centre on European issues and the European Union(EU), with the aim of familiarising young people with consultation processes and enhancing their participation in public debate. The group was created in September 2021 (with no end date) by the Associate Professor of Athens University of Economics and Business, Spyros Blavoukos, Senior Research Fellow of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) and head of the “Ariane Condellis” European Programme of ELIAMEP, and the Post-Doctoral Research Fellow of the “Ariane Condellis” European Programme of ELIAMEP, Dr. Alexandros Kyriakidis(Co-Convenors), in the framework of the aforementioned programme.

Participation in the Hub is fully open, without any time, geographical, national or other restrictions, except for age (between 18 and 33 years old), as it is an initiative for young people. following an expression of interest by the candidates concerned via an email to the Hub’s email address, with a CV necessarily attached, by the two Co-Convenors based on the candidates’ CVs (educational level, interests, field of study, etc.), and with the possibility of a preliminary interview. Participation in the Hub is entirely voluntary, and any member may withdraw at any time. In the case of a member’s long-term or significant contribution, the member may be provided with a certificate of accomplishment, signed by the Co-Convenor Associate Professor Spyros Blavoukos.

The hub operates autonomously under the supervision and guidance of ELIAMEP, under auxiliary coordination of Co-Coordinators.The members of Hub meet at regularly (at least once a week, for 1-2 hours), either physucally or online, and deliberate on a range of issues of different nature, such as internal organization, role allocation, activities, collaborations, submission of proposals for funding, etc. The Hub decides by majority vote and suggestions are in this regard to ELIAMEP, which may accept, modify or reject the relevant proposals, always taking into account the educational and autonomous nature of the Hub.
